Finishing black paint based on special polyester resins for obtaining surfaces of exceptional quality.
Specifically formulated for the spray finishing of high gloss models.
Easy to apply, once dried it allows to obtain a perfectly workable layer of paint.
SUPPORTS
Recommended: sanded polyester and vinylester bases.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Apply on well cleaned sanded surfaces; make sure the substrate is free of dust, fibers, dirt and surface condensation. Mix the paint thoroughly. Add 1-2% of MEKP liquid hardener CT21 (methylethyl ketone peroxide), always mixing thoroughly. The product is workable for 15-20 minutes in a cup at 23°C.
Apply by spray up to a maximum thickness of 500 – 600 microns in 4-6 coats of 100-150 microns each. Apply each single coat with 2 or 3 crossed passes, leaving the product to deaerate and spread out for 5 minutes between one coat and the next. Use a gravity spray gun with 1,4 – 1,7 mm nozzle and 2,0 – 2,5 bar (40psi) pressure. Theoretical coverage: 1,0 – 1,2 kg / m2 for 600 microns of thickness. The product can be sanded 12 hours after application at a temperature of 20°C. Typical sanding cycle: P240-P320-P400 by hand and after a further 12 hours complete the sanding cycle with P600-P800-P1200 grits (wet sanding is not recommended) and polish the product. Do not use at temperatures below 16°C. In its original packaging, the product can be used for 6 months if stored indoor away from direct sunlight, at temperatures not exceeding 20°C.
Note: • To clean the surfaces, do not use silicone cloths or cloths that have been in contact with silicone; • If you want to use a more fluid product, you can proceed, before catalysis, to add 5 – 10% of MEK solvent.
